Announcing this summer's Embroidery Stitch Along

The summer embroidery stitch along is just a week away!! I hope you are joining in the fun. Keep reading for our schedule and some housekeeping notes regarding where to find the weekly videos, the format, and other important details.

As a reminder, you do not need to have the same fabrics and threads that I am using in order to participate in the stitch along. If you decide to stitch with the fabric and threads I am using, you can find them by clicking the image above.

This summer's stitch along covers 12 weeks beginning June 14th and ending August 30th. Here's our schedule:

Week 1 - June 14th - Kick off!!! Gather and Prep - You'll need fabric for stitching, an embroidery hoop, threads/floss, needle, and scissors. Since my stitching fabric is light, I will add a piece of white muslin to the back. We will gather our supplies and discuss our overall stitching plan.

Week 2 - Straight stitches (seed stitch, backstitch)

Week 3 - Lazy Daisy Stitch (detached chain stitch)

Week 4 - Chain Stitch

Week 5 - Raised Chain Stitch

Week 6 - French Knots

Week 7 - Satin Stitch

Week 8 - Long and Short Stitch

Week 9 - Pistol Stitch

Week 10 - Fly Stitch

Week 11 - Variations and Bonus stitches

Week 12 - August 30th - Finishing

For those who participated last year, I have made a few changes to the format:

  • Videos will still be uploaded to YouTube, emails with direct links will still go out to those who registered for the stitch along, and I will still post to the Journal with links to the weekly videos.

  • I am, however, discontinuing the Podia Community page as there wasn't much interest in sharing/posting/interacting as a group.

  • Each week I will record TWO videos - one long (similar to last year where I demonstrate and then discuss each stitch and chat a bit) and one short (basically just demonstrating the stitch). You get to choose 😉

2024 Stitch Along Kit

Also, I still have a few kits from last summer's embroidery stitch along if you missed out, and the videos are still up on YouTube.
